RIP Nate Quick [Shaggylive.com blog 11]
August 21, 2009
Nate Quick. Leader, mentor, & friend. He was one of the first persons to welcome Shaggy to the world of being a DJ. A few days ago, the radio world lost one of their own. I didn’t know who he was because he was based in the the Texas area, but I got to learn a bit about him through Shag. From watching his videos, I could tell he was well loved, charismatic, and very talented. You could tell he made people feel comfortable when he was around them.
One of the videos is a tribute that Shaggy put together and the other is a hilarious segment Nate did for K104 FM.
RIP Nate, you will be missed by those that knew you.

The Dancing King [Shaggylive.com blog 10]
July 31, 2009
The Wondergirls are a Korean pop group that slowly breaking out in the U.S. I never heard of them until this week. I learned about them from Russel from Two Beer Queers. The Wondergirls had asked their fans to submit their versions of the dance routine from their debut U.S. single called “Nobody” and post it online, and they did! There were many submissions and I’m not really sure if this was one of them, but this parody type video of the dance is awesome. This fan not only does the dance perfectly, he plays the other people in the video too.
Very clever and super fun! Those crazy asians! It really made me laugh and I hope it makes you laugh too.

Like I said in the previous blog, I love America’s Got Talent. So when I was watching it the other night, I was so shocked to see a little Hawaii girl as a contestant on the show. I hadn’t seen any press on her so it was a complete surprise! Her name is Ciana Pelekai and shes only 8 years old and AMAZING! The finals start next week, so lets cross our fingers for this little ray of sunshine!
You can also search youtube and there are TONS of videos with her in them too. She truly has a gift, and I know she will go far!

The Voices of Glory [Shaggylive.com Blog 8]
July 17, 2009
I really don’t care for any type of reality tv… but there is one show I do enjoy watching. AMERICA’S GOT TALENT!
Personally I think its way better than American Idol because you can be any age and do any sort of talent.
There are many acts and stories that came from the show so far, but this one really tug at my heart strings. A sibling act call ” Voices of Glory” really caught my attention. As soon as I showed the video to Shaggy, he absolutely fell in love with them too. Please watch the video to get the full story of why these kids are so inspirational. I guarantee this will touch your heart as well.
Don’t for get to follow us on Twitter, @shaggylive and @bkgirlfriday, and of course Shaggy’s radio station @Q103!
BTW, exciting contest coming up soon for the internet viewers so stay tuned!
